Maltese Pedigrees
A pedigree is the one document about a dog that nobody can embellish. Every
page linked below is the ancestry of a Divine Maltese champion or foundation
dog, usually to four or five generations, as recorded with the AKC. The
names repeat for a reason: CH Marcris Indecent Proposal and CH Marcris
Divinely Risque appear in most of them, and behind those two sit the
Marcris, Pashes and Su-Le dogs the kennel was founded on, with Rhapsody and
Hi-Lite on the other side.
What to look for if you are reading one for the first time: a CH in front
of a name means that dog finished its championship, and ROM after it means
the dog produced enough champions to earn the American Maltese Association
producer award. A pedigree where most of the names carry one or the other
is a pedigree where several generations of judges and breeders agreed the
dogs were right. What a pedigree cannot tell you is health, which is why
the parents of every litter here are tested separately; the tests are named
on the available puppies page.
